Promising academy pair miss Under-23 match ahead of Carabao Cup tie
Tottenham Hotspur’s Under-23 side were in action this evening when they faced Blackburn Rovers at the County Ground in Leyland.
Two of the club’s most promising academy players, Troy Parrott and Japhet Tanganga were both left out of the squad ahead of the first team’s trip to Colchester United tomorrow.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side face the League Two outfit in the Carabao Cup third round at the JobServe Community Stadium.
Parrott and Tanganga impressed during Tottenham’s pre-season tour of the Far East and also at the Audi Cup in Munich.
The pair have not featured for the first team to date this season but have been involved in training with the established players on a regular basis and have also travelled as reserves to a number of matches.

Opinion
I hope that both players are rewarded for their efforts with a start against Colchester tomorrow evening.
At 17, Parrott is expected to be the next big thing and a tough trip against the League Two outfit will only help progress his young career.
