Three recent homicide victims have been identified by Oakland police
OAKLAND — Three men shot or stabbed to death since Sept. 13 in different areas of the city have been identified by police.
The cases are not related, authorities said.
A man fatally shot Sept. 19 in the 1400 block of 85th Avenue in East Oakland was identified as Karlin Watts, 46. Watts, of Oakland, was found dead about 9:14 p.m. that night. Police said he frequented the area. A motive has not been determined and no arrests have been made.
A man found fatally stabbed Sept. 18 inside his vehicle at a gas station at 350 Grand Avenue in the Adams Point area was identified as Andre Qualls, 34, of Oakland. Police suspect the stabbing, which happened about 1:43 p.m., may have been prompted by some kind of argument with another person. No arrests have been made.
A man shot to death about 10:26 p.m. Sept. 13 in the 2200 block of 92nd Avenue in East Oakland was identified as Lamar Ward, 28, of Oakland. A motive has not yet been determined in the killing and no arrests have been made.
So far this year Oakland police have investigated 55 homicides in the city. Last year at this time police had investigated 57 homicides.
