Kellie Maloney collapses to the floor after knocking out EastEnders actor Adam Woodyatt in Celebrity MasterChef
KELLIE Maloney collapsed to the floor as she knocked out EastEnders actor Adam Woodyatt to win a semi-final place in Celebrity MasterChef.
The ex-Celebrity Big Brother star celebrated by throwing herself to the ground while she was congratulated by her opponents.
She was stunned at getting through to the next round after impressing former contestants Alexis Conran, Sophie Thompson and Rev Richard Coles with her soufflé.
It hasn’t been an easy ride for the former boxing boss who was rushed to hospital during filming after suffering from exhaustion.
She told the Mirror: “Mentally I got exhausted. I wanted to go home but they wanted some more filming.
“The next thing I knew I was on the floor with all my fellow celebs and the judges around me. Paramedics arrived and said I needed to go to hospital.”
Kellie continued: “When they took my blood pressure I was 240 over 180. The paramedic said they couldn’t believe I hadn’t had a stroke. I didn’t want to go to hospital but they said I had to and rushed me there in an ambulance.
“I was there for nine hours. I can’t remember much about that day. But I got some nice text from Vicky [Pattison] and Greg [Rutherford] checking I was okay.”
Kellie is a 66-year-old trans woman who initially rose to fame as a boxing manager and promoter.
She has had several operations including a botched facial surgery which almost cost her her life.
Although she has no regrets about her transition — announced in 2014 – Kellie opened up to The Sun about her shock suicide bid after mixing with the wrong friends made her doubt her decision.
She said she started drinking heavily, mixing with the wrong crowd and was “slowly losing control of my life”.
After downing tablets – including dog painkillers – Kellie was rushed to A&E where doctors tried to stabilise her.
