* All Times ET (Eastern Standard Time)

1. Mater Dei, Santa Ana, California (5-0)

Result: Won 53-24 at St. John’s (Washington, District of Columbia)

Takeaway: For the first time this season, Mater Dei trailed at the half. The Monarchs then outscored St. John’s 33-3 in the second half to cruise to its fifth win of the season. Bryce Young threw for more than 400 yards and had five touchdowns, the offensive line largely kept him protected, and the defense dominated the final two frames against a very talented St. John’s team. Mater Dei has strength all over. And while the Cadets remain one of the more talented programs in the nation, they haven’t been able to win against other top teams and lose their fourth straight. What We Learned>>>

2. St. Thomas Aquinas, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (4-0)

Result: Won 45-24 vs. Carol City (Miami)

Takeaway: The Chiefs punched the Raiders early in the first quarter and St. Thomas Aquinas came out swinging from that point on. Defensive back Ja’Den McBurrows was all over the place for the Raiders, returning an interception for a score and blocking a punt, which led to another score then fellow defensive back Blaine Anderson scooped up a fumble and took it in for another score. Offensively, the Raiders set the tone in the second half, going 55 yards in just six plays and scoring on quarterback Zion Turner’s 15-yard scamper to take a 21-6 lead. The Raiders showed impressive poise in this one, precisely what they’ll need going into the second half of the season. What We Learned >>>

3. St. John Bosco, Bellflower, California (5-0)

Next: Friday, Oct. 4 at Servite (Anaheim, California), 10 p.m. ET

4. Duncanville, Texas (4-0)

Result: Won 42-0 at Berkner (Richardson, Texas)

Takeaway: The Panthers showed why they are a top five team. With a balanced offense and a fierce defense it’s hard to believe they will face a challenge until the playoffs. Roderick Daniels finished with four catches and 101 yards, including a 66-yard touchdown pass from  Ja’Quinden Jackson to start the game.

5. IMG Academy, Bradenton, Florida (4-0)

Result: Won 52-14 vs. Booker T. Washington (Miami, Florida)

6. St. Louis, Honolulu, Hawaii (6-0)

Takeaway: Need to see more ways De La Salle can score on you? Running back Shamar Garrett took the handoff… and then fired it downfield to wide receiver Grant Daley for a 64-yard touchdown. With so many unique ways to score and a vicious defense tough to penetrate, near-40-point wins are no surprise.

Running back Jordan Johnson led the way to the end zone, scoring three touchdowns in the first half en route to 106 rushing yards in the win, while starting quarterback and SMU commit Raylen Sharpe threw for one touchdown and ran for another as part of 280 yards of total offense.

14. Eastside Catholic, Sammamish, Washington (3-0)

Next: Friday, Sept. 27 at Rainier Beach (Seattle), 10 p.m. ET

15. Highland Springs, Virginia (5-0)

Result: Won 39-7 at Page (Greensboro, North Carolina)

16. Grayson, Georgia (4-1)

Result: Lost 31-7 vs. Colquitt County (Moultrie, Georgia)

Takeaway: The Rams finally found a team that they couldn’t score at-will against in the second half. After winning as “comeback kids” in the last two weeks, the Rams fell behind big early and never recovered against a talented Packers team. Colquitt County got a record-setting game from running back Daijun Edwards, who became the school’s touchdowns leader and all-time leading rusher in the win. With the win the Packers once again solidified their spot as a powerhouse in the state and the region.

21. Chandler, Arizona (5-0)

Result: Won 52-14 vs. Desert Ridge (Mesa, Arizona), 10 p.m. ET

Takeaway: Chandler finally played its first home game of the season, and the Wolves showed its local fans exactly why they’re special. For the fourth game in a row, they put up more than 50 points. Running back Dae Dae Hunter had three first half touchdowns, Rodney Clemente scored a pair as well and Gunnar Maldonado returned a punt 52 yards to the house. The reigning state champs are rolling.

22. North Shore, Galena Park, Texas (2-1)

Next: Friday, Sept. 27 vs. La Porte (Texas), 8 p.m. ET

23. Owasso, Oklahoma (5-0)

Result: Won 34-10 at Union (Tulsa, Oklahoma)

Takeaway: After forcing their way into the Super 25, the Rams are now making a show of why they deserve to stay. Facing off against perennial Oklahoma state title contenders Tulsa Union a week after dispatching defending champ Broken Arrow, Owasso was all business, scoring on four first half possessions en route to a 27-3 lead and cruising to a 34-10 win in front of their home fans. The victory, sparked by three first half touchdowns from running back Isaiah Jacobs, snapped a 10-game home losing streak to Union and checked off what may have been the team’s toughest test after Broken Arrow before the playoffs.

24. Mentor, Ohio (5-0)

Result: Won 63-7 vs. Medina (Ohio)

25. Dutch Fork, Irmo, South Carolina (5-0-1)

Result: Won 49-0 vs. Northwestern (Rock Hill, South Carolina)
