29 operations conducted against Taliban in Kabul, other provinces amid elections: NDS

The National Directorate of Security (NDS), the intelligence department of Afghanistan said the NDS forces conducted 29 operations against Taliban militants in Kabul and other provinces amid presidential elections

According to a statement released by National Directorate of Security, the NDS forces conducted 16 operations in Kabul city and outskirts of the capital and arrested 14 Taliban militants who were attempting to sabotage the elections.

The statement further added that the NDS forces also conducted 13 operations in Logar, Ghazni, Nangarhar, Balkh, Herat, Kunar, Helmand and Khost provinces during the same period.

The statement also added that the NDS forces killed 34 Taliban militants, wounded 14 others and arrested 4 of them during the same operations.

The NDS forces also confiscated a large quantity of weapons and munitions during the operations, NDS added.
