Woman in her 40s ‘stabbed to death at home by relative’
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was stabbed to death at a home in Enfield, north London.
The victim, in her 40s, was found seriously injured and pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
Police believe the victim and suspect were related to each other.
In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: ‘A murder investigation has been launched in Enfield after a woman was fatally attacked at a residential address.
‘Police were called at 7.23pm on Saturday, September 28, to a seriously injured woman at an address on Tennyson Close in Enfield.
‘Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and found a woman in her 40s suffering stab injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.’
The suspect, 28, remains in custody. No-one else is being sought in relation to the murder, police said.
The Met said the woman’s next of kin have been informed. A post-mortem examination and formal identification will take place in due course.
