Pochettino has his say on whether Serge Aurier should have seen red yesterday

Serge Aurier went from hero to villain as he took to the pitch against Southampton at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium yesterday.

The Ivorian has been in inspired form since his return to the Spurs first team this season, looking especially impressive against Crystal Palace and Leicester City.

However, Aurier struggled from the start against the Saints in the 15:00 kick-off yesterday, getting caught out of position several times within the first half hour.

Serge was then booked for a rather needless slide tackle from behind against a Saints player who was nowhere near the goal and facing the wrong way.

Four minutes later, that yellow turned to red as the right-back was cautioned yet again for a pullback on a Southampton shirt.
