THE Walking Dead fans have been a first look at the third spin-off series soon to be released.
It focuses on two women who are the first to grow up during the zombie apocalypse.
The coming-of-age show is set ten years into the tragic events.
It will air at the same time as the flagship show’s tenth series in 2020, but the new spin-off doesn’t have a name yet.
Details have been kept firmly under wraps, but fans are hoping it will be released at the New York Comic Con this weekend.
A synopsis says: “The third instalment of the franchise will feature two young female protagonists and focus on the first generation to come-of-age in the apocalypse as we know it.
“Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. In the end, all of them will be changed forever. Grown-up and cemented in their identities, both good and bad.”
Teasing what is to come, Nico Tortorella – who has been cast in the latest spin-off – told the Chicago Tribune about his character: “His name is Felix and he is very much the protector of a younger generation.
“The show is focusing on a younger generation of people, 10 years post-apocalypse, and I’m kind of the dad in charge.”
Alongside this new spin-off show, there is other spin-off show Fear The Walking Dead set during the zombie outbreak and a trilogy of films following the story of series protagonist Rick Grimes.
Meanwhile The Walking Dead show bosses have said they want to welcome back Andrew Lincoln in season 11 as a director.
The 46-year-old actor played lead character Rick Grimes in the AMC post-apocalyptic horror series until the season nine finale.
Andrew decided to take a step back from the series to spend more time with his family in England after years of being in America for long periods of time thanks to the show’s punishing filming schedule.
While he previously revealed his hopes to return to The Walking Dead as a director, his busy workload made it impossible for him to do so during the upcoming 10th season.
Executive producer Denise Huth told RadioTimes.com: “I would love for Andy to come back and direct.
“He’s so tight with this crew, he understands the show so well…

“It is a beast, and I think it’s tough for people to come in and have this be the first thing that they really direct, but obviously he brings to the table an understanding that other first time directors would not have.”
The spin-off show is set to be released in 2020.
