Macron ally warns Trump France will ‘react with sanctions’ after £6billion EU tariff hit

AN ALLY of French President Emmanuel Macron has warned Donald Trump France and the European Union will “react with sanctions” if the United States enforces £6billion of trade tariffs on the bloc. Washington stoked fears of a trade war after it announced tariffs on £6.1billion worth of EU goods such as French wine, Spanish olives and British whiskies starting October 18.
