Soo Rin Kim out, Hye Soo Park in, for "world" title fight
Earlier today news broke from south Korea that the unbeaten Soo Rin Kim (4-0-1, 1) [김수린] has had to pull out of a WIBA Super Flyweight world title bout against Chinese novice Jinyan Gao (2-1), set for October 12th, due to a recurring back injury.
Thankfully however KBM have saved the show by getting a replacement in for Kim, with around 9 days notice.
Kim's replacement will be fellow Korean fighter Hye Soo Park (5-8-1, 1) [박혜수], who is a much more experienced and proven fighter than Kim, though is a natural Light Flyweight.
Park is best known for for losses against Anabel Ortiz, back in a 2013 class for the WBA female Minimumweight title, and Tamao Ozawa, in what was for the Korean and Japanese national Light Flyweight titles due to a recent OPBF rule change.
Whilst the Korean local will be the under-dog it's fair to say that this change won't be a great one for Gao who would have been training for Kim and has had her opponent switched to the much more experienced fighter on short notice.
