Duke Recruiting: Hunter Dickinson Cuts His List To Four
And one just offered
DeMatha big man Hunter Dickinson cut his list to four - Notre Dame, Michigan, Florida State and a latecomer in his recruitment, Duke.
The Blue Devils only offered very recently but the 7-2 Dickinson seems pleased, telling Zagsblog this: “When Coach K calls you have to pick up the phone. He’s an all time legendary coach and to play under him would be incredible. I like how I’d come in and have a chance to play a lot right away.”
We don’t understand his comments about FSU though. Leonard Hamilton annually has a rotating cast of 7-0 stiffs he likes to park under the basket and they never do much on offense. The great exception to this was Mfiondu Kabengele who is now an LA Clipper. The list of big and mostly useless FSU seven footers is impressive.
Obviously Mike Brey is a skilled offensive coach and while Juwan Howard is unproven, he has a ton of NBA experience.
On a side note, Duke just moved in late on Jaemyn Brakefield who was considering, among others, Michigan. If Duke does the same thing with Dickinson, Howard, who was three times victimized by Duke and saw the Fab Five tied to Laettner-Hurley-Hill era Blue Devils for all time, might start to feel cursed.
