Destiny 2 changed in a big way on Oct. 1, starting with the game's long-discussed move to Steam.
The particulars boil down to business moves: Bungie, the studio behind the Destiny games, regained full control over the series after parting ways with publisher Activision earlier in 2019. That left Destiny 2, which was only available to PC players through the Activision Blizzard-owned video game launcher Battle.net, without a home.
