16-year-old struck in Gilroy drive-by shooting
A drive-by shooting in Gilroy left a teenager injured Tuesday evening, police said.
At about 6:43 p.m., police responded to a drive-by shooting in the 200 block of West Tenth Street. Several unidentified suspects fired several rounds from their car while passing a group of kids.
One 16-year-old boy was hit, police said, and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. He has since been released; details on his injuries and condition were not immediately available.
The suspect vehicle then took off at a “high speed” going southbound on Church Street, police said, but has not been located since.
