Dad left with NO FOREHEAD after being attacked by thugs in an ‘unprovoked’ attack
A DAD has been left with no forehead after being kicked and punched by four thugs in an “unprovoked” attack.
Andrew Haynes, 33, was in a coma for a month after he was set upon when yobs allegedly abused his female pal outside a kebab shop in May.
He suffered a fractured skull and needed part of it removed to relieve pressure caused by swelling.
Andrew, of Teignmouth, Devon, also suffered memory, smell and taste loss and wears a helmet to protect his head.
The dad of one, a keen gym-goer, said: “My life has changed utterly. It’s a miracle I’m alive.
“The surgery that I had was described as the most risky procedure of all.
“I had a fracture at the back of my skull, my brain became enlarged – they had to remove my forehead so my brain could breathe.
‘NERVOUS ABOUT GOING OUT’
“It’s really scary what the future holds.”
Andrew added: “My walking has totally changed. I’m moving with a stick when I used to be athletic.
“I’m nervous about going out.”
He has had to give up his job as a support worker.
Doctors plan to rebuild Andrew’s forehead by inserting a metal plate.
