Cedar Ridge keeps postseason hopes alive with win over Hendrickson
PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (KXAN) — Cedar Ridge was able to avoid virtual elimination from the playoff conversation with 31-21 win over Hendrickson Thursday night on the KBVO Big Game of the Week.
The win puts the Raiders at 2-2 in 13-6A play. Vandegrift, Stony Point, Vista Ridge and Round Rock are all still ahead of Cedar Ridge before their games on Friday.
The Raiders were in control of the game for the most part. Running back Deuce Vaughn, a Kansas State commit, scored a short touchdown in the third quarter to stretch the lead to 21-7.
The Hawks cut it to a three-point game in the fourth quarter, but Cedar Ridge never surrendered the lead. Quarterback Jalen Brown scored an insurance touchdown with less than three minutes to play on a short quarterback keeper to bring the score to its final tally.
