DANIEL LEVY admitted Mauricio Pochettino has been left with players he does not want at Spurs.
Club chairman Levy made the shock claim at a meeting with the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust.
Pochettino is under pressure after his team’s poor start to the season.
Christian Eriksen, Toby Alderweireld, Danny Rose and Jan Vertonghen are now in the final year of their deals, adding to the instability at the club.
But in a sign Levy will back Pochettino in his decisions — which could see a number of players leave — the chairman has accepted some responsibility for the situation.
The minutes read: “DL (Levy) said Tottenham had been one of the biggest spenders among Premier League clubs in the recent transfer window. It had also not generated all the sales the club hoped for.
“DL reiterated just how difficult it is to get a transfer over the line.
“In 90 per cent of instances either a buyer could not be found for a player or the player did not wish to join the club that had expressed an interest in buying them.”
Levy appeared to accept key players would leave for nothing in the summer.
The minutes added: “DL said it wasn’t possible to make anyone sign a contract if they didn’t want to.
“Some players have been at Spurs for a long time and want to pursue opportunities elsewhere.
