Labour’s £9bn free prescriptions pledge put health services at risk, experts say

Labour was accused of putting public services at risk after setting out a £9billion health spending spree. Jeremy Corbyn wants to scrap prescription fees and offer a raft of free services regardless of people’s wealth. The Labour leader also wants to set up a publicly-owned drugs manufacturer, which critics claim will stop vital medical research.
