BANK ROBBERY: Police responding to southeast Austin Wells Fargo

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Police responded to the scene of a robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank located at 1825 S. Pleasant Valley Road in southeast Austin.

According to APD, the call came in around 3:44 p.m Tuesday. The suspect entered the bank, requested cash and left the scene on foot, according to police.

Police are describing the suspect as a 5’8″ white male with thin build. He wore a surgical mask on his face, khaki pants, a dark jacket and a dark hat.

This is the latest of several bank robberies in the Austin area. Robberies include a Wells Fargo in south Austin on Oct. 4; a Compass Bank in downtown Austin on Oct. 9; and another on Oct. 9 at a Comerica bank in central Austin.

During the Compass Bank robbery in downtown Austin last week, the suspect also used a surgical mask to cover his face, according to police. Authorities aren’t tying any of the robberies together to the same suspect as of this report.
