Strictly’s Dianne Buswell begs fans to stop sending DEATH threats to Shirley Ballas after Dev Griffin’s shock axing
STRICTLY pro Dianne Buswell has begged her fans to stop sending head judge Shirley Ballas death threats after Dev Griffin’s shock exit from the show on Sunday night.
Viewers were left outraged as Radio One DJ Dev lost out to Viscountess Emma Weymouth in the dance off, with many expecting him to remain in the competition for considerably longer.
With accusations of under-marking, telephone voting lines being rigged and poor judging in the dance off, some angry followers have allegedly threatened to harm Shirley.
It prompted one concerned fan to urge Dianne and her boyfriend Joe Sugg to calm their supporters.
The fan’s tweet read: “Please sort your fans out @dbuzz6589 & @Joe_Sugg. I get why people are upset & I don’t think it was @dev_101’s time to go.
“But sending vile abusive tweets & death threats to @ShirleyBallas is totally out of order. Imagine if it was a member of your family on the receiving end .”
Dianne revealed her shock and upset after learning of the vile threats.
She responded: “Guys this is terrible you can not be bullying like this . It’s awful and really upsets me to hear this . It’s simply not ok and should never happen !”
Some Strictly viewers demanded former head judge Len Goodman return to the panel, claiming the result would have been different with him at the helm.
Allegations of a fix spread on social media at the weekend when Emma was saved over Dev, who has consistently scored higher than her.
Many fans complained they couldn’t get through to the voting lines to back Dev on Saturday night.
Strictly bosses tweeted at the time: “There’s a high volume of calls, so if you don’t get through first time keep trying! And remember you can vote online”.

Dev and Dianne scored 27 out of 40 for their Cha Cha Cha by the judges, which placed them tenth out of 13.
All four judges voted to save Emma in the shock result.
It came a week after Dev and Dianne’s Street performance landed them in second place with a massive 36 points.
Dianne is devastated that she and Dev are out of the competition and has revealed that she felt she “let down” her partner.
The 30-year-old has insisted he “didn’t deserve” to be booted off the show after just four weeks.
