Topeka Police looking for early morning shooting suspect

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – Police are looking for a man who tried to rob another man, resulting in a shooting.

Just after 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, a man walked into a local hospital with a gunshot wound. He told officers he was sitting in his car that was parked at the Relax Inn and Suites in south Topeka.

The victim told officers an unknown man approached his car and demanded money. When the victim wouldn’t give him any money, the suspect reportedly shot the victim and ran off.

Topeka police are developing suspect information and ask anyone with information to contact Shawnee County Crime Stoppers.
