Kate Middleton & Prince William's Plane Unable to Land in Islamabad Due to Terrifying Thunderstorms (Video)

There was a scary situation on board the airplane carrying the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (aka Prince William and Kate Middleton).

The RAF Voyager took off from Lahore, Pakistan on Thursday (October 17) and was supposed to be in the air less than 30 minutes, but ended up circling for over two hours due to severe thunderstorm activity.

Members of the press were also on the plane, and one correspondent, Emily Andrews, tweeted about the experience.

“Drama on the royal flight… thunderstorms over Islamabad meant we had to abort two landings and have returned to Lahore,” she posted. Prince William came back to check everyone was OK and joked that the extreme turbulence was due to him flying the [plane] (he’s an experienced pilot). He also joked we could all go out for a night out in Lahore together! The @RoyalAirForce captain did a great job in [storms.]”

Press Association reporter Emma Louise Bowden included a video with her tweet that is quite terrifying!

“Those big flashes are the RAF Voyager, carrying William, Kate and traveling media, going through [lightning] – two aborted landings at Islamabad due to the storm and we’re back in Lahore,” she wrote.

According to reports, the royals are now back in Lahore, Pakistan.
