Widower’s 50-year collection of vintage adult mags tipped to sell for £40,000 at auction
A WIDOWER’S 50-year collection of adult magazines is tipped to sell for £40,000.
His mags, most in immaculate condition in indexed box files, date back to the 1950s.
Titles include Playboy, Penthouse and Hustler — with many still in original envelopes from when they were posted.
The seller, who is remaining anonymous, started collecting in his 20s.
He is also flogging books and photographs, plus lingerie and leather gear.
One novelty item is a pair of stud undies — white pants with a pouch that stretches to the floor.
Matthew Bytheway, of BTW Auctions in West Bromwich, said: “The gentleman said he had a quantity of magazines to sell.
“It was a bit of a shock when I saw it all. He has a large house in Warwickshire and the collection was in his old dining room.

“There were hundreds of boxes from floor to ceiling. He had a step ladder to reach the top ones.
“He was very well spoken and wasn’t the slightest bit embarrassed. People collect all sorts of items.”
The hoard is so big it is going under the hammer in several separate online sales.
