Half of all active iPhones have made the leap to iOS 13

There may be a much wider choice of smartphones if you opt for Android, but one of the downsides is fragmentation and a lack of updates to the latest version of the mobile OS. Apple has no such problem with iPhones.

As 9To5Mac reports, it's only been a month since iOS 13 became available and yet as Apple makes clear, 50 percent of all active iPhones are already running the new version. For iPhones released in the last four years the figure rises to 55 percent.

It's a similar situation for the iPad and iPadOS, which was launched on Sept. 24. So far, 33 percent of all iPads already use the new mobile OS, with the figure rising to 41 percent for iPads released in the last four years.
