[Women's Basketball] OCU, Wayland Baptist Picked as Preseason SAC Favorites

OKLAHOMA CITY – The two squads that met in the 2019 Sooner Athletic tournament championship, Oklahoma City and Wayland Baptist, have been predicted to again finish atop the women's basketball standings in 2019-20, as selected by a vote of conference head coaches, the conference office announced on Thursday (Oct. 17) afternoon.

Oklahoma City, the 2018-19 regular season champion and tournament runner-up, received six of the 11 first-place votes, earning 95 total points. The Stars, led by returning NAIA All-America second team honoree and SAC Freshman of the Year Abby Selzer, finished last season as the national runner-up in Billings, Mont., as City fell in the championship game to Cinderella squad Montana Western.
