What exactly is a Hollywood one-hit wonder? For our purposes, it's any actor who's only known for one role. They're famous, but they haven't been able to escape the part that gained them that fame. One-hit wonders can also be non-famous, but memorable thanks to being in a classic film. Franchise actors often get caught in the one-hit wonder trap. Mark Hamill, for instance, isn't known for any other features besides the Star Wars films. They're some of the biggest and most popular movies in the world, but Luke Skywalker is only one role. We'll talk more about Hamill...Also, and importantly, being a one-hit wonder is not an insult. Most actors are zero-hit wonders so don't think that's lost on us. We don't intend to single any of the following stars out for ridicule. Instead, our slideshow is more a celebration of these types of actors. There's something mysterious about them.
