The United Kingdom now wants to seriously crank up maritime security cooperation with India in the Indo-Pacific, with special focus on the Indian Ocean Region (IOR), even as it has offered help to New Delhi in building new-generation 65,000-tonne aircraft carriers. For starters, a UK liaison officer will "very soon" be posted to Indian Navy's Information Fusion Centre-IOR at Gurgaon.
