[Women's Soccer] Women's Soccer Downed by HIU

FULLERTON, Calif. – The HIU women's soccer team scored three first and second-half goals as the Hawks were unable to complete a comeback with two second-half goals, falling 6-2 to the Royals.

This only tightened the playoff race more as the Hawks had a chance to secure their spot in the GSAC playoffs. With the loss, SDC is now in a 3-way tie for fifth with HIU and Menlo.

Trailing 4-0, Joanna Ortiz gave the Hawks their first goal of the game in the 68th minute. Ten minutes later, Alexia Orenday added another for the Hawks but the Royals led 5-2 and later scored the last goal of the game three minutes after Orenday's goal.

The Hawks have two games left in the regular season. They host Westmont next Saturday, Oct. 26 at 2:30 p.m.
