Military Situation In Northern Syria On October 20, 2019 (Map Update)
A brief overview of the recent developments in northern Syria:
- The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) deployed several battle tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and hundreds of soldiers in the area of Tabqah;
- U.S. forces have evacuated an unspecified number of ISIS-affiliated persons from the al-Howl camp;
- U.S. forces have completed their withdrawal from eastern Aleppo and the countryside of Raqqah;
- A Turkish service member was killed and another was injured in a missile attack by Kurdish forces near the town of Tell Abyad;
- Turkish-led forces captured Ras al-Ayn. Clashes are ongoing near the town.
