Received match reports:
Women's 1:
The Women's 1XI travelled away to local rivals Ben Rhydding. In the opening exchanges BR were slightly on top however Leeds grew into the game and from the second quarter they dominated with goalkeeper Phoebe Menear having nothing to do!
Leeds kept winning ball and creating chances but didn’t have the composure to put the ball in the net!
Leeds finally got their reward for sustained pressure on the Ben Rhydding goal with Sarah Wood winning a penalty stroke at the start of the final quarter, converted by Lauren Ellwood. Despite going 1-0 up Leeds started to lose their momentum and pressure started to mount on Phoebe Menear’s goal with Ben Rhydding managing to snatch two late goals.
A disappointing result, the team know they’ve outplayed their opposition in the past two games but are yet to get their rewards. Overall the team are well placed and will continue to work hard to turn on field domination into goals and ultimately points.
POTM: Jess Ferguson
Women's 4:
The Women's 4XI hosted Brigg 4 at Becketts Park on Saturday, not knowing quite what to expect. The team stormed to victory 6-0 with a hat-trick from Megan, two goals from Ganni and one from junior Kim. This places us in third place in Yorkshire Division 3, only two points off the top spot, but slowing building up the goal difference.
POTM: Votes were distributed well across the team but Laura and Megan were voted joint winners this week.
