[Women's Soccer] Women's Soccer Takes Shutout Victory

Doane Women's Soccer posted their second straight shutout and picked up their first conference win of the season in defeating Mount Marty, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon. The win moved the Tigers to 5-6-1 on the season.

The Tigers controlled the pace of the game throughout, out-shooting the Lancers 26-8 for the game. Doane had 13 shot attempts in each half. Doane was able to step up when needed on the defensive end as well as Tiger keeper Danielle Dubovy (SO/Las Vegas, Nev.) picked up six saves in the shutout.

Doane took the lead in the 30th minute of play as Daniela Frey (FR/Barcelona, Spain) scored her first collegiate goal off a pass from Michaela Thompson (FR/Spokane, Wash.). The Tigers picked up some insurance in the 89th minute as Dani Schreiber (JR/Eagle, Neb.) took a pass to the left side of the box by Cali McEntee (SR/Fremont, Neb.) and sent the ball into an empty net for her first goal of the season.

The Tigers will take on Morningside on Wednesday, October 23, in Sioux City, Iowa.
