Coronation Street spoilers: Daniel takes son Bertie and leaves Weatherfield leaving Beth Tinker distraught
CORONATION Street’s Daniel Osbourne is set to leave Beth Tinker distraught this week as he prepares to leave the cobbles along with baby son, Bertie, following Sinead Tinker’s untimely death.
The grieving dad’s great escape comes after a brutal run in with his late wife’s aunt in the street.
Daniel leaps to Bethany Platt’s defence when a cruel Evelyn Plummer makes some horrible comments about her kiss with Daniel prior to Sinead’s death.
But Sinead’s aunt Beth is left furious by Daniel’s protectiveness of Bethany and her fury is stoked even more when she spots the pair together in Victoria Gardens.
Livid, she accuses them of having an affair before Sinead is even cold, leaving Bethany distraught as the harsh words give Daniel food for thought.
Later he arrives at No.1 and announces he’s taking Bertie on holiday to Scotland, saying it’ll do them both good.
Adam and Peter Barlow are concerned for him but Daniel is adamant that it’s best for everyone.
As Daniel and Bertie set off for Scotland, Beth watches on, distraught that he’s taking her godson away and fearful that he may never come back.
Is she right to be worried?
Sinead – who was played by Katie McGlynn in the ITV soap – passed away in emotional scenes on Friday night.
In her dying hours Sinead was forced to confront the terrible news that her spouse, played by Rob Mallard, had shared an emotionally-charged kiss with Bethany as he battled with the thought of losing his wife.
Fortunately the husband and wife managed to work it out before it was too late – with Sinead later dying with her husband and son beside her.
But actress Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany Platt, said ITV viewers haven’t been quite so understanding.
Earlier this week the 23-year-old revealed the furious fan backlash following her character’s kiss with Daniel.

She told The Sun: “People are not very happy with me!
“It’s been really hard. It’s one of those stories that’s so important and so many people have been affected by it.
“Everyone who watched it will be able to relate to it in a kind of way. And there have been a few nasty comments on my social media.
“But do you know what I find funny? People sometimes can’t differentiate between me as a person and the character I play. It’s just like, ‘You are the worst person in the world!’.”
