Cynthia Erivo Teases Aretha Franklin Portrayal By Singing 'I Never Loved a Man' on 'Late Show'!

Cynthia Erivo stopped by The Late Show on Wednesday (October 30) and gave host Stephen Colbert a glimpse of what we can expect from her playing the late Aretha Franklin!

The 32-year-old actress is to play the “Queen of Soul” in the upcoming NatGeo series Genius: Aretha.

Cynthia sang a snippet of Aretha‘s “I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Loved You),” which brought Stephen to tears.

Cynthia also talked about playing the title role in her new film about the life of Harriet Tubman, and also the possibility of becoming the youngest person ever to achieve EGOT status if her Harriet performance earns her an Oscar.
