[Women's Basketball] Cummins, Holland big for Bears in 78-60 victory over Rams

The women's basketball program at Shawnee State claimed their third consecutive victory in as many contests to start the 2019-20 campaign as the Bears got 17 points apiece from Bailey Cummins and Marnae Holland, strong defensive efforts from Sydney King and Brandie Snow, and critical minutes from Leah Wingeier, Natalie Zuchowski, and Hagen Schaefer en route to pulling away to a 78-60 over Bluefield (Va.) on Friday evening as part of the first day of the Appalachian Wireless Classic at the East Kentucky Expo Center in Pikeville, Ky.

Shawnee State, who shot 25-of-62 from the floor for a 40.3 percent mark from the field, overcame that mark -- and a 17.3 percent mark from three-point range -- by dominating the boards as SSU collected a massive 55-22 rebounding advantage in the contest.
