Woman plagued by migraines for twenty years ‘cured’ after giving up mac n cheese
A CHEESE fanatic who feared her migraines were a brain tumour has been cured after giving up her favourite grub.
Leia Harrison, 31, had suffered for two decades when she took a food intolerance test.
She said: “I loved macaroni cheese, cheese toasties and cheese and pasta — but it turns out they didn’t love me.”
Since her early teens, Leia endured migraines so agonising she’d often be reduced to tears.
She coped by taking high dose painkillers and trying to sleep it off, sometimes for 24 hours or more.
The delivery company worker, of Leicester, had feared a brain tumour after an uncle died from one.
Blood analysis in February this year showed Leia has an intolerance to dairy – as well as eggs, yeast and wheat.
She was forced to make drastic changes to her weekly food shop.
But her misery has ended ‘almost instantly’ since giving up her comfort food – macaroni cheese.
Leia said of the unexpected cure: “I’m able to function better at work. I can focus more and I’m not as tired and brain foggy after eating lunch.

“I don’t have to worry about a small headache turning into something crippling.”
The NHS said diet can play a “key role” in migraines.
It’s thought around six million people in the UK suffer from migraines – a severe headache felt as a throbbing pain in the side of the head.
A substance called ‘tyramine’ found in certain cheeses – such as cheddar, stilton and camembert – as well as cured meats, can be problematic.
