Britain’s cheapest pub goes on sale for a staggering £1 – but it needs a LOT of work
A HUGE waterside village pub is up for sale in Essex for less than the price of a packet of peanuts.
The once-popular Mill Beach Pub was closed down in late 2018 and boarded up in April this year.
Now an advert has appeared on Rightmove revealing it is on the market but in need of “full refurbishment”.
The leaser for Britain’s “cheapest pub” costs just ONE POUND and is up for grabs for budding landlords and landladies.
The impressive detached building has extensive garden areas and a car park for up to 50 cars.
It also comes complete with a large dining space, kitchen, bar area and fireplace, Essex Live reports.
It’s reported there has been an inn of the picturesque site in Heybridge since the 12th century.
The advert reads: “Village location close to Maldon, Essex. Bar & dining areas – 2,382 sq ft (GIA). Four bedroom accommodation.
“Extensive garden areas & car park (40-50). Closed – In need of full refurbishment.”

The pub is also conveniently located near a lake and a popular caravan and chalet park.
Locals say they were left stunned when it closed as the owners gave no explanation for shutting down.
The estate agent selling off the former pub has been approached for comment.
