'Hooligans’ arrested in Serbia for beating man they mistakenly believed to be gay: ‘Tonight I am proud to be one of them’

A 39-year-old man in Serbia who was carrying a "pink dog transporter bag" says he was beaten up because his two attackers mistakenly believed he is gay.

The suspected assailants have been arrested in connection with the assault on Ilija Vucevic, which took place Friday in the capital city of Belgrade.
