Tory MP Ross Thomson steps down after denying sexual assault allegation

TORY MP Ross Thomson has stepped down as the party’s candidate in the general election after a Labour MP accused him of sexual assault at Westminster bar. Paul Sweeney alleged Mr Thomson grabbed him and tried to put his hands down his trousers in the Strangers’ bar in the House of Commons in October last year.
