SERIES: All-time series tied at 6-6. LAST MEETING: Lions won 18-13 in Detroit on Nov. 22, 2015.

WHY RAIDERS COULD WIN: Josh Jacobs, second in the AFC in rushing, could find more holes against the Lions, who are ranked 26th against the rush in the NFL. … Derek Carr also appears to have a favorable matchup as the Lions’ pass defense has allowed more than 300 yards and four touchdown passes in each of the last two games.
Like last week, Carr could find success against a former teammate. He threw a TD pass against Gareon Conley in Houston and Rashaan Melvin comes back to town having allowed three TD catches against him last week.

WHY LIONS COULD WIN: Their passing game with quarterback Matthew Stafford could cause a lot of trouble for the Raiders defense. Stafford, who is tied for second in the NFL with 16 touchdown passes, threw for 342 yards and three TDs in a win over the Giants last week. The Raiders defense, meanwhile, has allowed the second-most TD passes (19) and permitted their opposition to score on 44 percent of their drives (second-worst in NFL). … The Lions have a top-notch pass rusher in former Patriots standout Trey Flowers, who had a pair of sacks in Detroit’s win Sunday, and could make things tough on Carr.
