Australians ‘should be horrified’ if protesters disrupt the Melbourne Cup

Sky News host Rowan Dean says Australians should react with "horror" if protesters try and disrupt "a great national day", the Melbourne Cup, on Tuesday.

"As we said before about Extinction Rebellion and other such mobs, they simply show how stupid they are and they simply show the rest of Australia how dangerous these little left-wing activists are," Mr Dean told Sky News host Paul Murray.

Fellow panelist, Sky News contributor Janine Perrett said "I'm not going to get upset [about] these protesters so long as they behave, they didn't block the route [and] they don't get violent."

Mr Dean concluded by saying, "the Melbourne Cup is a great day".
