Would you like to become a Coach?
Have you ever considered becoming an archery coach?
Guildford Archery Club had an incredible coaching team who offer a huge amount of help and support to club members of all levels of skill and all ages, as well as running our beginners courses, assisting the junior club and encouraging competitive archery within the club.
The team is always looking for new members, who can help with all of these activities, whether as qualified coaches or not, but the best way to get involved is to become a recognised AGB Coach.
The first step is to complete a Level 1 course, which will give you the confidence to teach the fundamentals of good archery technique to beginners and novices, as well as being the first step on the pathway to becoming a more advanced coach in the future should you want to.
The Level 1 course consists of 3, one-day sessions of instruction followed by an assessment. They are fun to do and as well as learning the fundamentals of good archery technique and how to teach them, you may well find that your own archery improves!
Level 1 courses within a reasonable distance of the club are infrequent, but we are extremely fortunate that Val Smith has agreed to put a course on at Guildford Archery Club.
The dates for the course sessions will be: 26th January; 16th February; 8th March with an assessment on 29th March.
Costs are normally in the region of £275.00 for the course, but the club will pay these for GAC members who want to do the course (in recognition of the time and effort they give up to do the course and deliver subsequent coaching)
Spaces will be limited, so if you would like to take a place, please visit the AGB web site click on Coaching, then Level 1 and scroll down to the Learner Application form and email the completed form to me at val@valsmith34.plus.com to reserve their place.
