Granit Xhaka stripped of Arsenal captaincy after X-rated rant at fans and replaced by Aubameyang
GRANIT XHAKA has been stripped of the Arsenal captaincy.
The news was confirmed by Gunners boss Unai Emery at a press conference ahead of their Europa League clash against Guimaraes on Wednesday.
The Swiss international is yet to feature for the Gunners since his furious spat with supporters while being substituted against Crystal Palace ten days ago.
SunSport originally reported that Xhaka had failed to make the squad for the trip to Portugal.
But the news has got a while lot worse for the 27-year-old.
Emery said: “I have spoken to Granit and he is no longer one of the captains in the group.”
