Cassius Winston On Losing His Brother To Suicide

Raw, honest, painful, heartbreaking and deeply moving

When we read about the death of Cassius Winston’s brother, Zachary, who was killed by a train, our first thought was that it was an accident. The police said fairly quickly that he stepped in front of that train intentionally and we figured that there was a good chance that his family had some idea of what he was dealing with.

So when we saw Cassius’s touching post on Instagram, it confirmed that his brother had had his struggles and what Cassius wrote was incredibly touching (although not necessarily SFW).

He had impressed us in several ways already but as always, it’s hard to get a sense of someone’s life when you watch them on TV or from the cheap seats. It was a privilege to read this and deeply moving, not least of all his determination to save someone else from the bleak despair that claimed his younger brother.
