RAHEEM STERLING reportedly warned Joe Gomez “don’t f*** with me” during their Anfield clash that came just hours before their sensational bust-up on England duty.

That is according to the Mirror, who used Professional lipreader Tina Lannin of 121 Captions to determine what the pair said to each other during Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Manchester City on Sunday.

As Gomez, 22, attempts to shield the ball during the dying embers of the match, Sterling, 24, calls on his teammates to press with him as he gives the Liverpool defender a shove.

Former Charlton starlet Gomez reacts angrily at the challenge and puts his hands under former Anfield hero Sterling’s arms to give him a forceful push away.

It is as the £49million winger squares up to his international teammate that the Mirror alleges that he says: “Don’t f**k with me, Joe. Don’t f**k with me.”

Gomez reportedly responds by saying “come on!” before the two are separated by Reds duo James Milner and Dejan Lovren.

But the pair then had to be pulled apart by stunned team-mates following a further altercation in the canteen at England’s St George’s Park.

Liverpool defender Gomez was later snapped with a scratch by his right eye while training.

Sterling was axed from England’s team to play Montenegro in their Euro 2020 qualifier but issued an apology late last night.

In fact, the in-form City winger was in his car on his way home after being cut from the squad altogether – only for Gomez to plead with Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate to bring him back.

Leicester defender Ben Chilwell revealed today at a press conference that Sterling has also apologised to the rest of the England squad for the bust-up.

He said : “Gareth spoke about the situation and spoke about what he thought, and he also wanted to know what we thought about it.

Joe and Raheem got the chance to talk, which they both wanted to do.

“For Raheem, he wanted to apologise and Joe wanted to get stuff off his chest as well. That was it done then.

“[Sterling] was apologetic. He said it’s not in his nature, which it’s not.

“We all know as footballers that emotions can run high. There’s no-one trying to make excuses for him, including himself.”

The pair were thought to have settled the feud with an embrace after the match
