lurking about down on the Sea Wall - as you do.... the sea is up n running and giving the trains a good wash.... they use a strong acid in the washing plants to cut through the grime mixed with iron particles from brake blocks and wheels and the salt wash actually helps get rid of the gunk that builds up.. as for the steel-work they are well protected and can easily cope with this sort of weather....
in mild-ish conditions like this trains are limited to 15 mph...any worse and they have a Senior Driving Instructor accompany them from Dawlish Warren to Teignmouth... in heavier weather they swap lines with 'Up' trains going on the 'Down' Line...
