[Volleyball] Tigers dominate in quarterfinal win over Patriots

Dominant performance beginning to end. Georgetown College volleyball could not have had a better start to the 2019 Mid-South Conference tournament. They sided out University of Cumberlands for point one, set one and never looked back.

The straight set win, 25-10, 25-15, 25-18, was a master piece as the Tigers (19-12) never trailed. Set three had the only two ties of the quarterfinal match, 3-3 and 4-4. UC (17-13) threatened to tie it up at 12 when GC strung together 11 points for a 23-11 lead. The Patriots were able to pull back within five, 23-18, when a sideout and an ace wrapped it all up.

Georgetown advances to Friday's semifinals with a 4 pm showdown with Thomas More University. TMU won the first meeting of the year in straight sets and then clawed out a five-set victory recently in Georgetown.
