Middle schooler shaves her head for cancer awareness

AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A Broadalbin-Perth seventh grader is encouraging kids to be more accepting.

14-year-old Tricia Person recently shaved her head to bring awareness to cancer. Person lost her uncle to cancer, and her grandfather is currently battling prostate cancer.

The student tells News 10 that her only hope is to show others that there is no embarrassment when it comes to the disease.
