Man fatally struck by car on NYC street

A 55-year-old man was fatally struck by a car as he tried to cross a Brooklyn street, officials said Thursday.

The victim was trying to cross Rockaway Ave. near Somers St. in Brownsville when he was hit by a 2012 Nissan about 6:45 p.m. Saturday.
