Oil futures mark highest finish in about 2 months

Oil futures rose on Thursday, with prices settling at their highest in roughly two months. Prices found support after a report from Reuters, citing OPEC sources, said OPEC and its allies, including Russia, are likely to agree to extend crude production cuts until mid-2020 when they meet next month. January West Texas Intermediate oil climbed by $1.57, or 2.8%, to settle at $58.58 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. That was the highest front-month contract finish since Sept. 23, according to Dow Jones Market Data.
