Video: Former Spurs boss admits he contacted Levy over possible return
Harry Redknapp has admitted that he sent Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy a cheeky text message on Tuesday night to offer his services over a possible return to the club.
Spurs announced on Tuesday evening that they had sacked Mauricio Pochettino following the poor start to the season which left the club in fourteenth place in the Premier League table heading into the international break
Redknapp spent nearly four years in charge of the North London outfit before being given his marching orders by Levy in 2012 (BBC).
He said during an appearance on Sky Sports’ The Debate Show that he jokingly told he’d do the Tottenham job for ‘a couple of hundred quid a week’.
Levy saw the funny side and sent a text back to Redknapp and offered him the chance to be a guest at an upcoming fixture.
Spurs wasted no time in confirming Jose Mourinho as the new head coach following Pochettino’s dismissal.
"I text Daniel [Levy] last night." ????????

“I thought Mourinho, Ancelotti, who’s it going to be?” Redknapp said on The Debate on Sky Sports.
“I text Daniel last night, I said ‘I’m here Daniel, I’m just going for an Italian with my wife. A couple of hundred quid a week – I’m ready, I’m coming.
“He text me back and said ‘You’re a star. You’re my special guest at a Tottenham home game.’ I thought ‘thanks Daniel.'”
