He was in control of the scheduled six-round cruiserweight clash when he was caught by a huge left hand from Dustin Long.

And it knocked Marsellos senseless as he lay prone on the canvas out cold.

Referee Jay Nady instantly waved an end to the fight 1:51 into the fourth.

That was 37-year-old Long’s third straight win, taking his record to (3-1-2, 3 KOs).

Meanwhile, Wilder’s own three-fight winning run (all by unanimous decision) has come to a crashing end after he first lost in January to a fourth round TKO to journeyman William Deets.

He bounced back from that setback with a first round KO against Mark Sanchez in March before earning a unanimous decision over Tyler Vogel in June.

Wilder Jnr then overcame Jamaican Nicoy Clarke in a cruiserweight bout 40-36, 40-36 and 39-37 in a fight filled with holding and grappling in August.

However, the result of his bout with Sanchez was later changed to a no-contest by the Texas Combative Sports Program in April.

That was a result of Wilder failing an unspecified test it administered.
